Margarita Broich studied acting at the University of the Arts in Berlin. She had her first engagement in 1987 at the Schauspielhaus Frankfurt am Main. Since then she has performed at the Deutsches Theater Berlin, the Berliner Ensemble, the Volksbühne and the Maxim Gorki Theater, among others. During this time she worked with directors Einar Schleef, Heiner Müller, Robert Wilson, George Tabori and Christoph Schlingensief, among others. She also appeared as an actress in numerous television, film and radio productions. In 2013, she was nominated for the German Film Award for best supporting female role for Quellen des Lebens and in 2016 she won the Hessian Television Award for best actress for Tatort Wendehammer and Aufbruch. Since 2014, Margarita Broich has been investigating alongside Wolfram Koch in the Frankfurt Tatort.
